Golf Fitness Platform for Coaches
We hear this all the time, “I’m trying to do “X” in my swing. I just can’t seem to do it.” Sound familiar? Due to restrictions and lack of flexibility and strengths, our bodies aren’t always able to do the things we want it to do.
The golf swing incorporates three planes of motion – the frontal plane (side to side), the sagittal plane (flexion & extension front to back), and the transverse plane (rotation). Each movement pattern needs to be carefully choreographed for the optimal swing. This means that every part of your body is always either helping or hurting your performance… nothing is neutral or inconsequential. It all matters.
A glitch here or deficiency there hampers skill execution and play performance. Subtle linkage faults in your movements limit performance, erode power, and diminish control. The cause is ineffective practice and will result in inconsistent play and potential injury.
The solution
Focus on your body. Give it the attention it deserves by visiting a movement professional (i.e. Personal Trainer) or a Certified Golf Professional with a connection to fitness and get a proper assessment of your body and where you may have restrictions preventing you from performing at your best. You can even do an online movement screening to evaluate your current state and identify your restrictions. It’s impossible to drive if you don’t know where you are going.
Once you have a better understanding of your strengths, and potential weaknesses, you should start prioritizing your fitness. When you start working out you need to learn movement patterns that reinforce your golf swing and overall wellbeing.
With the right training program, your movements should become better, fuller, more dynamic, more creative, more adaptive, more efficient, and more effective as isolated movements sync up to become more connected and integrated. Over time this will improve your overall well-being and reduce the risk and potential for injury – but more importantly, it will give you consistently better results on the golf course.
Kinexit offers a simple and effective tool to help you. You’ll get an effective body screening evaluation the current state of your body as well as personalized golf specific exercises based on your screening.
