How did you get into golf?
For me it started very early, both my parents and my grandparents played, and that made me want to try it as well. I got my first non-plastic golf club for my fourth birthday, and even before then I was whacking a plastic ball around the back yard with a miniature club.
What was your HCP when you turned Pro?
My handicap when I turned pro was +1,5.
Do you have a favorite golf course?
I have a few favorite courses of the ones I have played. One of them is the Renaissance Club, which I played combined with Muirfield GC at the 2016 Boys Amateur Championship. My favorite in Sweden is Visby GK, it is very hard to beat a summer evening by the sea!
Do you follow golf or fitness coaches on social media?
Yes I follow a few fitness coaches, to get tips and inspiration to bring into the gym myself.
Who is your favorite player?
That’s an easy one, Tiger Woods. He was the one that made golf a sport, and made golf cool to play. I grew up when he was in his prime, and he has been my role model ever since. That makes it extra special for me to see him come back and win the Masters!
What golf-related achievement are you most proud of?
That´s a tough one, but I probably have to say defending my title at the Täby Svea Leasing Junior Open results wise, or any time I have gotten to play for the Swedish national team.
How important is fitness for you when it comes to golf?
Fitness is very important to me, and it has been that way for a long time. Through the years I have had arguably more than my fair share of injuries, and I think that combined with the fact that I like working out, has lead to fitness being important to me.
How do you think the club golfer can improve?
If I could write a prescription for lower scores for the average golfer, without them having to put in many hours of practice, I would say two things. Firstly, start working on your fitness. It does not have to be complicated, and it does not have to take a lot of time. That is one of the reasons I think Kinexit is a great tool to make fitness training easy to fit into your day. The other thing is course management and strategy. This one will likely give even bigger results, and I use to say that if I would caddie for a club golfer, I could rather easily shave off 5 strokes in a round.
What’s your strengths as a player?
I hit the ball pretty far, which gives me an advantage against many others. That is the result of time well spent in the gym, and that I was lucky enough to be born quite tall.
