How did you get into golf?
My parents took me to the golf course at a very young age. To begin with, I was mainly interested in finding balls but around the time I turned 12 I got really into golf and since then it’s always been great fun
What was your handicap when you turned Pro?
I was a scratch player when I turned Pro
Which is your favorite golf course?
Fancourt Links in South Africa
Do you have a favorite golf or fitness coach you follow and why?
I’m following a good number of players to understand how the team behind them is organized
Who is your favorite player and why?
Right now, it’s Justing Rose. He swings extremely well and gets into all the right positions in his swing.
What golf-related achievement are you most proud of?
I’ve been given the opportunity to work with many talented players. It’s inspiring and motivating to follow their progress and development. As for my own golf game, my best result is a top-10 finish on the Swedish Golf Tour and as a junior player I won the Tour Final (Teen Tour Elit)
How important is fitness for you when it comes to golf?
I’ve been working more and more on the fitness aspect with my clients in recent years – mostly mobility and stability. Players are achieving their goals quicker and improvements in the swing are significant as they can play more without pain, stiffness, and restrictions.
How do you think the club golfer can improve?
Many golfers have restrictions or pain which they need to compensate for in order to hit the ball. Technically, it’s not uncommon golfers want to hit from the top. With the golf swing, each move needs to happen in the correct order otherwise you’re making it unnecessarily difficult for yourself.
What makes you a great coach?
I’m always looking at the big picture with each player – technique, equipment, fitness, and psychology.
What’s in your bag?
I’m a Titleist player
Driver: TS 3 9,5 degree
Fairway: TS 2 3-wood 13,5 degrees
Irons: TMB 3-pw and 50, 54, 58 degree Vokey Spin Milled wedges
Putter: Scotty Cameron
Do you have time to play golf yourself?
I play 2-3 rounds per month
How often do you work-out yourself?
I work long hours during the summer, but my goal is to manage at least 2 fitness sessions per week
